It Takes Two

In a previous blog I wrote about Change.  In summary, I wrote how change is necessary if we want to change our circumstances.  More often than not, we want to change for not just ourselves, but more importantly, for our families.

Family is a beautiful thing and is often the reason people join this business.  I often hear others saying that they got into this business to put their kids through college, retire their spouse, or to spend time with the kids.  I would actually go on a limb and say that nearly all of us who joined It Works did it so our families could experience a better life.

Though many of us started down this journey for our families, it’s often those same family members who don’t understand the sacrifice it takes to be successful.  Like I said before, anyone can be a distributor, but the only way to the top is hard work.  Hard work means spreading your wings and letting friends, family, and even strangers know about the amazing Ultimate Body Applicator and the business opportunity through It Works Global.

Even though most spouses don’t want to admit it, most of us have had problems with this “less talk, more action”.  More action in the business means less action at home.  I don’t mean ACTION action (get your mind out of the gutter), but more so the action of keeping a house together and the family functioning.  This ultimately means that other family member(s) will have to pick up the slack and add a little more to their plate in order to keep things running smoothly.

Often times these extra duties will reside with the husband if the wife is getting her “less talk, more action” on.  Fellas, it’s not the end of the world if you have to sacrifice for your family and do some dishes, fold some clothes, cook a dinner now and then, and spend extra time with the kids.  I’ve been there personally and have struggled with the role reversal.  During that time, I couldn’t understand why I had to pick up so much slack so Shauntel could chase dreams.  It wasn’t until I opened my eyes and saw the potential that I began to accept the change.

I know it’s hard to change roles and do things you’re not used to doing, but I am here to tell you that It’s Worth It.  When things get tough, talk it through and comprise.  Don’t let pride or egos get in the way of your success.

This is a once in a lifetime business and it will set you free….if you let it.

Would I do it again?  Yes.  In the grand scheme of things, it was a very small price to pay.
